Jim is a poor boy. He lives in a small village. He always spend his holiday at home. He has never been to London, he has never had a Cristmass-tree, he has never put on a new shirt. He always has old shirts from his brother Tom. Tom is older than Jim. He does not live in the small village but in a big town where he works. He has often sent Jim a parcel with old thinks but he has never bought him anything new. He has recently sent him some books.
Jim's friend Kenneth is a good boy. He likes Jim. His parents have a large garden. They often give him apples and other fruit. Kenneth has recently given his a blue album for his stamps.

Písanie vedeckého alebo odborného článku
Pri písaní odborného článku treba dodržiavať určité pravidlá a normy, ktoré sú stanovené na tento účel.
Môžeme ich rozdeliť do dvoch skupín:
1) normy pre vonkajšiu úpravu
Majú viac technický charakter a bývajú presne určené organizátormi konferencií alebo iných odborných podujatí alebo metodickými listami inštitúcií, ktoré majú záujem o zjednotenie úpravy písomných prác, aby zlepšovali ich úpravu, dizajn a vzhľad.
2) pravidlá obsahovej štruktúry
Prv, než sa rozhodneme napísať vedecký alebo odborný článok je vhodné zamyslieť sa nad tým, či chceme písať pôvodný článok alebo prehľadový hodnotiaci článok. Možno sa o nich bližšie dozvedieť napr. na stránke http://www.ssmv.sk/view.php?cisloclanku=2006022801.

Vedecký poster
Poster patrí k prezentačným komunikačným technikám.
Poster (plagát) je zaužívaná forma prezentácie vedeckých a odborných poznatkov na konferenciách. Sú na ňom stručne, zvyčajne graficky alebo tabuľkovou formou prezentované informácie. Poster je vystavený v priestoroch konferencie a môže, ale nemusí byť stručne komentovaný jeho autorom v rámci programu konferencie.
Časti vedeckého posteru
- názov (stručný, výstižný, nemali by byť v ňom použité skratky), spolu s názvom môže byť v záhlaví posteru umiestnené aj logo)
- identifikačné údaje (autor - prípadne aj kontakt na autora, miesto, časový údaj)
- kľúčové slová (cca 2-4 kľúčové slová zo spracovávanej problematiky)
- Abstrakt (stručný výťah z obsahu informácií)
- horizontálne alebo vertikálne členenie informácií do odstavcov, písaných v celých vetách odborným jazykovým štýlom. Jednotlivé časti môžu mať svoje nadpisy a byť očíslované, aby čitateľ vedel ich poradie, ktoré by malo byť v logickom slede. Je potrebné dodržiavať hierarchiu v typoch a veľkosti písma (napr. nadpis - názov posteru, podnadpisy, ostatný text), prípadne aj vo farebnosti (preferovať skôr dvoj- alebo trojfarebnosť pred pestrofarebnosťou).
- okrem textových informácií by mal vedecký poster obsahovať tabuľky, grafy, schémy, nákresy, vzorce, snímky a pod.)
